International Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day

Awuraba foundation in collaboration with Ghana Education Service (GES) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) organized a special event to commemorate Sexual and Reproductive Health Awareness Day on February 12, 2025 at the Roman Catholic Church at Patriensa, Asante Akyim Central municipality, and was specifically tailored for two hundred and sixty nine (269) young school girls from Basic six(6) to Junior High School at Patriensa Cluster of schools, which includes M/A, SDA, Presby and Bimma schools. The event aimed to educate and empower the girls on important issues related to sexual and reproductive health.
Dr. Adjei Jude Thaddeus Appiah a medical practitioner who obtained his Degree from Saratov State Medical University in Russia and currently affiliated with KNUST Hospital in Kumasi – Ashanti was our guest speaker, providing valuable information on the medical aspect of sexual and reproductive health.
Rev. FR. Baah Martin of the Roman Catholic Church in Patriensa also spoke to the girls, encouraging them to practice abstinence and to treat their bodies as the temple of God.
The girls were encouraged to take the knowledge gained from the event and apply them in their daily lives. the sexual and reproductive Awareness Day was a significant and impactful event, providing the girls with essential information and guidance to make informed decisions about their sexual health and well-being.
